Roman Christiaens
Student Affairs Practitioner

I am a second-year graduate student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration (HESA) program at The University of Vermont. As a relationship-based and community-oriented student affairs practitioner, I have experience in diversity/inclusion training, civic engagement and service-learning programming, curriculum development, administration, marketing, event management and student supervision. For my next professional journey, I am seeking a position with high student contact that is centered around their co-curricular learning and located within an office dedicated to the social change model of leadership.
Through my two years in the HESA program, I have reaffirmed the following values and roles that guide my personal development and professional practice: lifelong learner, social justice educator, reflective practitioner and community organizer. This portfolio is a compilation of my various achievements prior to and during my HESA experience and details the ways in which I have lived out these values.
